About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, confident, and self-directed Physician Assistant to join our team in a flexible part-time capacity. This role requires a provider who is comfortable working independently in an outpatient setting, as the supervising physician will not always be physically present in the office. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives with clinical autonomy, exercises sound independent judgment, and communicates proactively when physician input is needed.
Schedule
Minimum commitment: 1 day per week (consistent weekly day preferred)
Additional coverage required during physician vacation and planned leave
Schedule communicated in advance with flexibility for both parties
Office hours: [insert hours, e.g., 8 AM – 5 PM]
What You'll Do
Independently manage a full patient schedule including well-child visits, acute sick visits, and follow-up appointments
See patients across all pediatric age ranges — newborn through adolescent
Exercise clinical judgment and work autonomously while knowing when to escalate or consult
Communicate effectively with families, staff, and the supervising physician as needed
Document accurately and efficiently in our EHR system [insert EHR name]
Maintain a safe, organized, and professional clinical environment in the physician's absence
What We're Looking For
Active, unrestricted PA license in the state of Georgia
Experience in Pediatrics or Family Medicine required — comfort seeing pediatric patients independently is essential
Proven ability to work autonomously in an outpatient clinical setting
Strong clinical judgment and confident decision-making skills
Excellent communication with patients, families, and staff
Current DEA registration preferred
BLS/PALS certification (or willingness to obtain)
Familiarity with Georgia's PA supervision requirements and collaborative practice protocols
Credentialing Preference
Candidates currently credentialed and in-network with a variety of major commercial insurance payers under their own individual NPI are strongly preferred
An active, recently attested CAQH profile is a significant plus
Prior individual NPI billing experience in an outpatient setting preferred
Candidates with existing Georgia payer credentialing will be prioritized, as this significantly expedites your start date
Compensation
$70–$80/hour commensurate with experience and credentialing status
1099 independent contractor arrangement [or W-2 — adjust as needed]
Malpractice coverage provided
Flexible scheduling with advance notice
Requirements
Licensure & Credentials
Active, unrestricted Physician Assistant license in the state of Georgia
Current NCCPA certification in good standing
Active individual NPI number
Current DEA registration preferred
BLS certification required; PALS preferred
Clinical Experience
Minimum 1–2 years of clinical experience in Pediatrics or Family Medicine required
Must have hands-on experience seeing pediatric patients across all age ranges — newborn through adolescent
Comfortable independently managing well-child visits, acute sick visits, and routine follow-up care
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in an outpatient clinical setting
Skills & Competencies
Strong independent clinical judgment and decision-making skills
Ability to manage a full patient schedule without on-site physician supervision
Excellent communication skills with pediatric patients, families, and clinical staff
Proficient with EHR documentation
Familiarity with Georgia PA supervision and collaborative practice requirements
Credentialing (Preferred but Not Required)
Candidates who are currently credentialed and in-network with one or more Georgia commercial insurance payers under their own individual NPI are strongly encouraged to apply, as this will significantly speed up your start date
An active and recently attested CAQH profile is a plus but not required — we are happy to assist the right candidate through the credentialing process
Prior experience billing under your own individual NPI in an outpatient setting is preferred
